Getting a Carbon Laser Peel

    Published 10/31/2021

Carbon Laser peel treatments are a popular type of skin resurfacing treatment for improving the appearance of skin. This outpatient procedure helps to rejuvenate the appearance of aging and damaged skin by gently removing the top layer of skin and leaving behind an amazing vibrant glow and youthful complexion. It is suitable for a variety of skin types and represents a quick, effective, and painless method of achieving your skincare goals.

Benefits of a Carbon Laser Peel treatment

The Carbon Laser Peel treatment can be used in the treatment of acne and acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, oily skin, dark spots, signs of premature aging and to revive a dull complexion and tone. It does this by providing the following benefits:

Cleansing: carbon absorbs oil and contaminants from deep within the pores. When the laser is passed over the treatment area it targets and destroys these carbon particles, taking the absorbed material with it.

Exfoliating: as the laser targets the carbon, it also blasts away dead skin cells, blackheads and effectively exfoliates the skin resulting in softer, radiant skin with reduced pore size and a more even skin tone.

Rejuvenating: carbon peels also target the deep layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production. Collagen causes the skin to be firmer, plumper and reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and leaves the skin glowing.

Acne and Oil Destroying: the heat produced by carbon peels reduces the P. Acnes bacteria responsible for acne, allowing for better management of pimples and outbreaks. It also reduces the size of the sebaceous glands (oil-producing glands), resulting in less oil production and less congestion in the pores. Treatments are not limited to the face and can be performed on the back and chest.

As with all skin treatments, carbon peels should be supplemented by a good skin-care routine and the use of sunscreen daily. Though noticeable results can be experienced after a single treatment, regular treatments are recommended for maximum long-term results.

How does the Carbon Laser Treatment work?

The Carbon Laser Peel is a two-stage process. During the first stage, liquified carbon is applied to the face. A laser is then passed over the skin creating controlled thermal damage that stimulates the healing process. Collagen, fibroblast, and elastin production and remodeling occur that rejuvenates the skin and targets fine lines and wrinkles. The high-energy treatment also destroys the membrane of acne-causing bacteria, reducing acne and its associated inflammation.

The second part of the treatment involves the removal of the carbon lotion by a second short pulse laser that breaks up the carbon particles and absorbs them, taking along with it any dead skin cells, oils, and impurities that were bound to it. The skin is also deeply exfoliated during this second stage, leaving skin brighter and smoother in tone and texture.

The entire treatment takes approximately 30 minutes, and the effects are immediately noticeable. Skin instantly appears brighter and feels smoother and softer than ever before.
