What Happens During a Zoom Whitening Procedure?
At Queens Medical Center, we make sure your whitening journey is simple, safe, and effective. Here’s what you can expect:
Step 1: Consultation
Your treatment begins with a consultation. Our dental professionals assess your oral health, discuss your whitening goals, and confirm that Zoom is the right choice for you.
Step 2: Preparation
Your teeth are thoroughly cleaned to remove plaque and debris. A protective covering is placed over your gums and lips to shield them from the whitening gel.
Step 3: Application
A special Zoom whitening gel, containing hydrogen peroxide, is applied to your teeth.
Step 4: Light Activation
The gel is activated by a Zoom LED light. This light breaks down stains and discoloration while penetrating deep into the enamel.
Step 5: Whitening Session
The light is directed at your teeth in four 15-minute cycles, usually totalling 45–60 minutes. During the session, you can relax, listen to music, or watch TV.
Step 6: Post-Treatment Care
After whitening, a fluoride-based gel is applied to reduce sensitivity and strengthen enamel. Our team also provides aftercare guidance, including dietary advice and oral hygiene tips to maintain your new smile.
